Research into Footscray’s Street Art

Upon completing the Footscray Animated Wall Mural project I wanted to spend some time reflecting on what I’d learned from the process. I was able to do this through the Masters of Fine Art (Research) course in Community Cultural Development at the Victorian College of Arts.

The topic of my research was the relationship between multiculturalism and street art through an analysis of 5 case studies in Footscray. I investigated the value of understanding multicultural theory when developing street art projects.

As part of that research, I completed a documentary film which will soon be released.

I also recently presented a paper on my work, “Aesthetics of Change,” at the Urban Creativity 2018 conference in Lisbon, Portugal and the Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities in 2019.
